How-To Prep for Your Big Day
Wedding season is upon us! Depending where you live right now, you might be able to have a private intimate wedding or a big bash— regardless, the bride wants to look her best for her big day! Here are some tips on how to prep your skin for your wedding or event.
First, I usually don’t suggest trying anything new or any major skincare treatments for the two weeks leading up to your event, because you just don’t know how your skin could react. However, there is one exception to this rule—IMAGE Skincare offers a treatment called the 02 Lift Treatment Kit that instantly improves complexion for every skin type. This luxurious oxygen skin care treatment infuses oxygen, plant-derived stem cells, peptides and a high concentration of enzymatic botanicals into the skin leaving it luminous, refreshed and rejuvenated. This oxygen skin care process provides a revolutionary treatment to exfoliate, illuminate and oxygenate. Your skin will instantly be ready for any high-profile event, including red carpets and weddings.
Second, you want to make sure that you’re using an SPF always, but especially if your event is in the summer. IMAGE Skincare offers a full line-up of SPF broad spectrum protection products in their PREVENTION+ lineup. There are products for every skin type and skin concern, and they each have a smooth, cosmetic finish. There is nothing worse than having to apply makeup over top of red, irritated, damaged or peeling skin.
Properly hydrating and exfoliating your skin prior to makeup application is also important to ensure that your makeup sits smooth and secure on your skin. I recommend IMAGE Skincare's VITAL C hydrating overnight masque and the ILUMA intense brightening exfoliating powder for a smooth and healthy complexion, always ready for the camera
Important note—if you’re doing your own makeup for the day make sure to check expiration dates as expired makeup won’t sit on the skin as it should & likely won’t last into the night.
Lastly, don’t forget your key essentials to keep in your clutch (or your MOH’s pockets):
- Lipstick
- SPF
- Powder to mattify & protect
- A facial spray to refresh yourself throughout the event and keep your spirits high! IMAGE Skincare just launched the VITAL C hydrating facial mist that works as both a hydrating mist and a makeup setting spray
